Thanksgiving to God is an act of showing appreciation or expressing our gratitude to Him for all He has done for us.
We can give thanks to God through prayers, words or songs.
We should always be thankful to God in all situations. If we thank God for what He has done, He will do more for us. God is bigger than o
ur problems. If you have a problem, focus on God instead of the problem so that God becomes bigger and the problem becomes smaller.
When we start thanking God for keeping us alive, wonderful things starts happening in our lives, families and in all we do.
According to David in the book of PS.34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” There is no limited number of times that we should God, rather it should be a way of life for us.
Even Jesus while he was on earth thanked God. According to the book of John 11:41, Before raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father I thank thee that thou hast heard me”. Jesus thanked God with faith believing that He has already done what he was about to ask for, why can’t we do the same? We should thank God for all He has done and for the things He will do for us.
Nothing demonstrates trust like thanking God when you are in a critical situation. When Jonah was swallowed by a whale as a result of his disobedience, he told the Lord, ” I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of Thanksgiving ” (Jonah 2:9). And after saying this, God made the whale to vomit him on dry land.
Our thanksgiving to God opens door for us. It goes a long way to show that we really appreciates what God is doing for us. God doesn’t demand our wealth before granting our requests, rather our praise and thanksgiving. Phil.4:6 says “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God”.
We should pray to God to teach us how to count our blessings and thank Him for them always.
