Therefore, if we have opportunity, let us good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” This verse is telling us the need to do good at all times, because we don’t know when the reward will come, so that we will not miss it.
Also, Hebrews 6:10 says “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them”. When you are doing good, bear in mind that God is a rewarder of goodness he will surely reward you.

Sometimes when you do good, you may get a surprise reward from the person whom you helped, either now or in future. According to the book of Hebrews 13:1-2, which says ” Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some people have entertained angels unawares”.
When you help people in need, don’t be surprised, in your own time of need, people will also help you, but also know that God works in a mysterious way, it might not be the people whom you may have helped, but God can send anybody to help you.
Don’t see it as a waste of time to do good to others, be a cheerful giver because God loves a cheerful giver. Don’t get tired, don’t complain, don’t murmur, as these can hinder your blessings.
Cultivate doing good as a habit. Don’t always wait to be called upon. Always be moved by the spirit to help, let it come from deep inside you.

Nobody will harm you for doing good, even if they do, the Bible tells us in the book of 1Peter 3:13-14, “Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened. Also the book of 1 Peter 3:17 says ” It is better, if it is God’s will to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. “
