The benefits that follows the proper training of our children in the way of the Lord are enormous. When you are training your children in the right way, have it in mind that you are sowing a good seed for you future. Proper training of our children attracts great dividends and reward. It is the joy of every parent knowing that they have children who will represent them well in future. Children are given to us by God therefore he will surely reward us if we give them proper parenting.
Here are some dividends and rewards that follows proper parenting;
1. Your Child Will Appreciate You
When you train you children well, his or her success story will not be complete without mentioning your name. I know that every parent will be happy realizing that they are part of their children’s success story. The good training which you have inculcated in them will keep on ringing in their brain wherever they go.Your children will give you peace of mind and give you the maximum respect that you desire.They will also see you as God sent and a blessing to their life. Proverbs 31:28; ” Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her.”
2. A Joy to the Parents
It is the joy of every parent to see that all the efforts that they put in raising up their kids was not wasted. When you see your child doing well, you will be happy with yourself for doing such a good work. Proverbs 29:17 ” Discipline your son, and he will give you peace, he will bring delight to your soul. ” Raising your children well will keep you away from shame, disgrace, heartbreaks and also untimely death as some parents who didn’t do this job well usually encounters. You won’t suffer much in your old age because your children will also be there to take proper care of you. In short, they will be your greatest asset.
3. A Joy to the Society
Not only the parents benefits, but also the society. Know that good habits are transferable. A properly trained child will inculcate his or her good habits to children around him or her. He will also be a great leader and also shun evil deeds such as robbery, cultism, sexual immorality, alcoholism, examination malpractice, drug addiction etc. A properly trained child will be an example for others to emulate.
4. They will make it to Heaven
It is God that gave us these children and he expects us to train them well so that their souls will not perish in hell but rather returns to him. Psalm 127:3 “Sons are heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him.” They are your sheep while you are their Shepherd therefore do not allow them to go astray.
5. God Will Reward us
Parenting is a responsibility given to us by God, therefore God will reward us in a good way when we do it properly. Do it for the sake of God because he want you to win souls to him and you children is not an exception.
6.They will in turn be good parents
When you properly train a child, know that you have properly trained a generation. The good morals and habits which you have inculcated in your children will make them better future parents which will make the World a better place.
The benefits of proper training of our children in the way of the Lord cannot be overemphasized. When you carryout your parenting tasks happily and do it rightly, you will never regret being a parent.
