Giving it to God – This is the best thing you can do for yourself when faced with challenges and trials. When you let go and let God, you will have peace of mind. God has promised that he will never leave nor abandon his chosen people. Luke 12:24 “Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom nor barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds.” Why harbour your problems and be dying in silence when you have someone that can take charge of it? Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” When you surrender it all to him, he will never disappoint you. Give it to him, have faith in him, trust and obey, and it shall be well with your soul.
Giving it to God – Let go and let God take control
Here are the reasons why you need to give it to God and have peace of mind;
1. God Loves Us
We can’t deny God’s love for us. Despite our sins and iniquities, he still shows us his mercy. He demonstrated his greatest love for us by giving us his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for the atonement of our sins. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave us his only son that whomever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” What more can he not do for us? Jesus loves us now and forevermore.
2. God Cares and Provides For Us
When the Israelites were in the wilderness and had no food nor water to drink, despite their grumbling, God still gave them all that they needed. Exodus 16:13-15 ” That evening, quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning, there was a layer of dew around the camp. When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor. When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.” Our God is still the same, he does not abandon nor leave his chosen people, in all that you are facing, know that he cares and still loves you and he will surely grant you your request at the appointed time. 1 Peter 5:7 ” Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
3. He promised to be our strength and shield
God is our strength, even when we are weary, he still renews our strength. Isaiah 40:3 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” When it looks like there is no hope, when you are growing tired and losing strength, all you need to do is to call on him, pour out your hearts to him. Ask him to come and take charge of your whole life, and surely he will grant you your request.
4. God Protects and fights for us
God does not take delight in seeing us suffer. Always know that he is continuously fighting both the known and unknown battles for you. If not because of him, we would have been devoured by the enemies. He delivers us from the hands of our enemies and sets us far from them. Give it to God and believe that it is settled because God has not finished with you. Isaiah 35:4 “Say to those with fearful hearts, your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, he will come to save you.”
When you are giving it to God here are the things that you need to do in order to obtain his grace;
1. Admit that you are a sinner
We have all sinned or trespassed against God in one way or the other, and therefore if he judge us according to our sins, we would suffer greatly, thus, you need to admit your sins. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
2. Repent now
After admitting your sins, you then need to repent of them because he is willing and ready to forgive you. Acts 3:19 “Repent then and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out.” Also 1John 1:9 Says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from unrighteousness.”
3. Believe and make your request known to him
Don’t approach the sanctuary of God with disbelief. Surrender all to him and have faith that he has answered you. Mathew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; Seek and you will find; Knock and the door will be opened to you.” God does not change and he will not see you and change. God has never failed, and he will not see you and fail. Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe.”
When you are giving it to God, make sure that you have accepted him fully, surrender all your worries, fears , problems, all that have been giving you sleepless nights. Romans 8:18 ” I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. ” Also Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” God has a great package for us, it does not matter what you are currently facing, at the appointed time, he will surely show us his glory and goodness.
