How to Trust in God Completely – Are you still finding it difficult to put your trust in God? What is it that is hindering you from having a close relationship with him? At times, the trials and challenges of life will make us to question if God is with us. Surrendering all to God and trusting in Him is all that you need to do in order to have a great peace of mind. God is always ready to provide us with all our needs that we ask from Him. He is always ready to hear and answer our cry and He never gets tired of doing so. John 15:7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted.” Don’t let fear make you to doubt on what God can do for you, always believe in Him and hold unto His steadfast love because it never ends, his blessings are forever more.
Cast out every spirit of unbelief from you and put your trust wholly in Him believing that the days ahead will be better than the past days. 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.” Take consolation from his words in the Scripture because he has promise to be with us at all times. Build up your faith in Him. No matter how big the problem or situation may seem to be, he is always ready to make it light for us. You don’t not only need to trust God, but you should also be able to walk with Him and obey his Commands.
How to Trust Completely in God
1. Let go of yesterday’s mistakes and hope for today’s blessing
Your past can hinder you from believing in what God can do for you. You may have been hurted, made mistakes that landed you into trouble. If you need forgiveness, ask God to forgive you, ask God what you want, receive it by faith, learn from your mistakes and do better next time. Phillipians 3:13-4 “Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on towards the goal.” Forget your past, do not live on it, commit your life and your ways into the hands of Almighty God and enjoy the life that God intended for you. This will help you build a great relationship and trust in God.
2. Hold unto Him until your joy comes
Don’t lose your hope and faith in God because of the pains that you are encountering now, but make it to draw you closer to God. Learn to endure the season of pain and believe fully that God has promised you joy on the other side of it. Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.” Make your faith to grow stronger by walking through your pains. It may be a test of faith, therefore, endurance and perseverance is the key.
3. Pay attention to the solution of your problem and not your problem
When you are facing any difficulty, speak positively because God is still on his throne and he has a plan for you. Tame your tongue, take charge of your situation and make the best out of it. Focus on the solution to your problem and not the situation. God has given you the gifts that you need in order to use and change any situation you are facing, all you need is to be confident, be calm, seek his face, and bring light and life out of it. Believe in God and also believe in what he can do, he will help you fight your battle. Isaiah 30:15 “In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
4. Trust God and don’t be afraid
Fear will definietly make you doubt God’s love for you. It can hinder your greatness. When you are fearful and doubtful, all you need to do is to stand up to your fears whether it is coming from inside or within you, hold on to the promises from God’s word. Isaiah 41;10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.” God is always ready and willign to work on your behalf because he possesses the power to do so. Draw nearer to him and he will draw nearer to you. Remember that God is your maker, he will never forsake you.
5. Learn to be patient
Never give up, never loose hope, don’t stop believing in God because you didn’t get what you are asking for instantly. God has his plan in store for you and he knows the right time to grant you your requests and he knows what is also good for you. Don’t rub yourself off of what God has in plan for you by giving up too soon, Galatians 6:9 “At the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
6. Believe in God’s grace and saving power
God’s grace comforts you in your time of troubles. Look up to him for your begining and ending because he is the Alpha and Omega. The grace of God gives us salvation. It directs us to say no to evil, wordly passions, and live a Godly life. The grace of God also grants us salvation. When you are living in God’s grace, you should learn to say yes to good and no to evil that his grace will continue to abide with you. 1 Peter 1:5 “Kept by the power of God through faith for salvation.”
7. Believe that God is with you always
God loves you and will never leave you even in your difficult and trying times. Do not think that he has abandoned nor forsken you because he does not abandon his chosen people. Always be bold, trust in him and walk majestically because he is always with you. Deuteronomy 33:8 “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you no forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
8. Communicate your needs to God with faith through prayer
What is it that is trying to weigh you down? Release the weight of your trouble by taking it God. God is not far away from us, he is close and cares for you affectionately. Take it to him and worry less. Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain you”. When you truly cast your problems on him, it will deepen your faith thereby bringing you more closer to him and also building the level of trust that you have in him.
9. Have a clear conscience
For you to believe totally in God and his words, you must have a clean and clear conscience. When you are swimmimg in the ocean of sin, you lose the sense of peace and joy. So you need to repent of all your sins and denounce them, reject what is evil and follow God’s teachings and commands so that you may be at peace with yourself and with him. Live a noble life, act honourably and put your complete trust in him. Acts 24:16 “So I shall strive always to keep my conscience clear before God.”
