Psalms of forgiveness and repentance – Our Lord is a merciful God. From ages to ages, he has continuously shown us his unreserved love. One thing that strains our relationship with God is sin. He gave us his rules and commands and he also expects us to keep the rules and commands that he has given to us. At times, we go against these rules by doing things that is forbidden in his sight, one thing that he expects us to do when we deviate from his rules is to ask for his forgiveness and mercy, he will forgive us because he is a merciful God. When we ask God for his forgiveness and he forgives us, we should also make sure that we don’t go back to offend him again.
We cannot deny the fact that we don’t know when we offend God because he has given us the conscience to discern what is good and evil. If you are someone that his or her conscience tells the truth, you will discorver that when you offends God, you will feel restless and peace of mind will be far away from you, but immediately you cry out to him with all your heart, believing with faith that he has forgiven you, your rest and peace of mind will be restored.
In the Book of Psalms, some verses have offered us great words to use and cry out to the Lord for forgiveness. No matter how great your sin may seem to be, he is ready to forgive you when you confess of it and repent with your true heart.
God forgives us when we ask and repent of it, yes, we should also learn how to forgive others. Mathew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” Forgiving others who have offended you, will also give you a good relationship with God, before you ask God for forgiveness, also make sure that you have forgiven those who have offended you in one way or the other.
