The Ugo Monye collections displays African rich cultural heritage with refined style. It is a mixture of various traditional fabrics and styles from different ethnic groups in Nigeria such as Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik and others. It also blends intricate designs and luxurious style collections from Africa and other parts of the world. The various styles displayed have a language to communicate. The various colors of the fashion displays stems from the traditional colors that are popular among many ethnic groups in Nigeria and also Africa. Ugo Monye is proving that there are endless styles that can be created with the African traditional fabric for both men and women. The various displays exudes royalty, elegance and stylish outfits for men and women. There is something unique about each fashion style.
The highlight of the event was when Nigerian top musician and Singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, graced the runway with his royalty themed outfit. His matching traditional accessories speaks volume of the well known traditional attire for Kings and titled men in some ethnic groups in Nigeria. The Music Star continued to walk in an admirable manner untill he left the runway. Ugo Monye is not only a fashion designer, but also a creative designer who tells stories through his outfit designs.
