The city of Akwa Ibom was set agog with the arrival of top celebrities and fashion designers in Nigeria who came to witness the traditional wedding between Prudent Gabriel and Peterson Okopi. The couples are popular in their various niches. Prudent Gabriel is a top fashion designer who owns her own fashion brand known as Prudent styling while Peterson Okopi is a top gospel musician. The journey of their love if you follow it well, is good for documentation as it reflects an interesting series starting from their proposal, introduction, court wedding and traditional wedding. Of course, I believe that their White wedding will not be an exception. The couple indeed, represented their cultural background and various tribes; Idoma and Anang respectively.
The various Aso Ebi Styles captured from the occasion is an indication that their guests “came well prepared.” The most dominant colours from the various Aso Ebi groups are; Blue, pink and silver. The ladies dazzled in their various Lace and George combination styles. Their various Gele styles signifies that Gele stylists are redefining it into a fashion style that will continue to stand the taste of time. Each guest tried as much as possible to create a lasting impression with his or her fashion style.
It was indeed, a show of amazing style inspiration for those who have an upcoming event to attend. I must also commend the guests for their matching accessories ranging from their purses, jewelries, shoes and others. From the various styles gathered from the event, one thing that is mostly common among the ladies’ outfits is the presence of corset design. In short, they all “looked snatched.” This traditional wedding will not be forgotten in a hurry because it gave rise to new fashion styles in the Aso Ebi world.
