Biography
Yemi Eberechi Alade, popularly called Yemi Alade was born on the 13th of March, 1989. Her father, James Alade comes from Ondo State in Western part of Nigeria, while her mother, Helen Uzoma Alade comes from Abia state in Eastern Nigeria but got married to James Alade. Yemi”s name “Eberechi” was gotten from her mother’s descent. Yemi Alade is called the Yourba- Igbo girl because aside from her mother being an Igbo, she equally understands the two languages.
Yemi Alade was born and grew up in the family of Seven being the fifth. Her father was a police commissioner.
Education
Yemi Alade had her education all in Lagos State Nigeria.
Her primary education took place at St. Saviour British Primary School. Her secondary education took place at Victory Primary School, Lagos. After her Secondary education, she proceeded to the University of Lagos State where she obtained a bachelors degree in Geography.
Career
Yemi has always wanted to be a musician. While in school then, she was practicing music. She came to limelight after winning the peak talent show in 2009. Though she was interested in music, but she discovered her real self and became sure that music was really her talent and that made her to move ahead.
Her first single, “fimisile” was released in 2009, under the jus Kiddin label.
She joined the Effizey music group in 2013,and released “Ghen,Ghen love”. Later, she released her debut album, ” King of queens” under the same music label Effizey in October 2014. She later released three singles, Tangerine, Johnny and kissing. The albums featured top artists such as; Chidinma, Bovi, Diamond platinumz etc. The music took her across several countries in Africa like: Kenya, Ghana and South Africa and she recorded huge sale of about Hundred thousands copies of her album, Kings of queens.
In March 25,2016,Yemi Alade released another single, Mama Africa, under the same music label, Effizey, which also featured top artists like Psquare, Flavor N’abania, Sarkordie, Sauti Sol etc. The album contained other singles such as , Na gode, Do as I do, Ferrari, Kom kom etc.
Since then, Yemi Alade continues to be more popular having a great number of followers in her social media handles and also featuring in more music.
