Our God in heaven is a merciful father who is always ready to listen and hear us when we call on him. We should pray to God in time of need and at all times as he is never tired to listen and hear our prayers. According to Matt 7:7 “Ask, for it shall be given to you,seek,and you shall find, knock,for it shall be opened unto you”.
Also,Jesus in John 15:7 “As we pray, believing God,He will surely grant our requests.
How then should we pray?
Pray with faith: We should not pray with disbelief. We should not be doubtful as to whether our prayer will be answered or not, but have confidence that it has been answered already. Matt. 9:22, Jesus turned and saw her. ” Take heart daughter, “he said,” your faith has healed you”.And the woman was healed from that moment. Heb. 11:16 says “And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek him”.
Before you pray, forgive those that offended you: Pray with an open mind. Don’t hold grudge against any body. According to Mark 11:25, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him so that your father in heaven may forgive your sins”.
Confess and repent of your sins: Be repentant of your sins, and never go back to them. 1 John 1:9,If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from unrighteousness.
Pray without ceasing(1Thess 5:7) : We should pray always and at all times. Eph. 6:8,And pray in the spirit in all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and keep on praying for all the saints.
Always be grateful: When praying, thank God for all he has done,so that he will do more. Do not hold back his praise. Psalm 100:4, “Enter his gate with thanksgiving, and His court with praise, give thanks to Him and bless His name.
